This is a criminal offence normally resulting in a custodial sentence. This fraud was only uncovered by our own investigations in October 2008, when dealing with a very wide range of other offences as outlined in a previous e-mail to this site. It is particularly embarrassing for the Metropolitan Police, with whom Sears has close links about which he frequently boasts. Sears was appointed to assist the Met in the anti-fraud group code-named Operation Sterling. Sears is also understood to have addressed officers at New Scotland Yard in April 2008, whilst all the time operating as a fraudster himself. That the Met failed to check on Sears is in itself a public disgrace and he would have no doubt carried on with his deception had we not uncovered this. All partners of Davenport Lyons have bee made fully aware of this but they have failed to kick him out, yet anothr example of the arrogance and disregard for the law so clearly illustrated by the Watchdog programme, although Sears` misconduct linked to the travel industry stretching back twenty years is far more serious. There is far too much to include here, but I can assure you that a whole catalogue of serious crimes have been committed by this indivdual. We do have media and political support at a high level and interested parties may call me on 01925 602389.
